A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with disorderly behavior following an incident in August last year.

Gavin Fisher (35) of Swilly Gardens in Derry was charged after police were attending the scene of a different incident.

As they tried to arrest Fisher, he began to shout and swear loudly in front of a family with a small child.

Police warned him to stop but he refused and was subsequently charged with disorderly behavior.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that these were 'fairly low level' offences and that Fisher had consumed drink at the time it occurred.
