Council ratifies funding for Strathfoyle play park

Derry City and Strabane District Council has ratified a Sinn Fein motion calling on the local authority to provide the entire funding for the development of a play park at Strathfoyle on the outskirts of the city.

The move has been welcomed by Paul Fleming (pictured), Sinn Féin councillor for the area.

The said the need for a play facility had been a “key issue” for the residents and his party for a “considerable period of time.”

He added: “It’s important now that this moves to the next stage and the commencement and completion of this project takes place as quickly as possible.”
