Hannah McCloskey
Local girl Hannah McCloskey organised a successful Depop in real life event in St. Columb’s Hall recently and the stage is set for 2.0 in November.

St. Columb’s hall saw over a thousand people attend the event throughout the day. The idea of the event was for people to come along and buy pre-loved clothing and accessories from stall holders. Some stall holders included popular influencers such as Abigail Vance from Strabane.

Hannah said the idea came about when she was thinking “I would love it if somebody would do a Depop or Vinted in real life.” She said she was encouraged by her friends and family to “go for it”.
She continued saying “I put a video up on tik tok asking people what they thought of the idea. People seemed to be up for it so I decided to just run with the idea and hope for the best. I had it all booked and organised within a day. It was all a bit mad, the tickets sold out within the first three days. The stalls were also gone within the first two days.
The next Depop in real life event will take place in St. Columb’s Hall again on 16th November. Hannah said “The event for November was booked right away the week after the last event as it was so popular. Tickets have been selling fast for this event. There will be some popular local influencers attending the event including Vicky Aiken, Alex Haggan, and Eimhear McLaughlin.
“This time will be the same event but with a whole lot more in there. This time Bebonded permanent welded bracelets will be there, Makeup by Broccan will be there and there will be a chance to win a lunch voucher for two to The Lounge.
Hannah has thought about organising other events for the city in the future. She said “I would love to bring more life back to the city for young people. There is just nothing for people to do. Apart from drinking there is nothing. As someone who doesn’t drink I wanted to see other events happening. I just thought to myself I’m going to start up this wee company, start organising different events.
“I would love to get concerts back on the go again in Derry. St. Columb's Hall is as big as the Ulster Hall in Belfast so we are deserving of acts to come play here. I would also love to do smaller wee girly events such as movie nights. At the moment I am planning a Paint and Sip event for The Lounge on the Strand Road. I am hoping this will be between Christmas and the New Year if not the first week of January.
Hannah said she is “so excited” for the next event and hopes that all that attend enjoy the day. If you wish to have a stall at the event you can contact Hannah directly via her social media channels.
