Our Community Stoma team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Enda Friel from Strabane and Grandfather of one of our young ostomates Dani Jay Harkin who generously raised £1,700 in support of our service, following a successful fundraising tractor pull!
With Dani Jays help, part of these funds contributed to a special children’s day out on Saturday, October 25 2025 at Brunswick Bowling Alley, Derry. This event brought together young people living with a stoma for a fun filled, confidence building day. As a token of appreciation and to bring a little extra joy, toy gift vouchers were also presented to children with stomas. The remaining funds will be used to host further activities / events for our children within the Western Trust with stomas.
We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity and continued support of families within our stoma community. Acts of kindness like this help us to create positive experiences for our young patients and promote connection, resilience and confidence. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to fundraising efforts to fund our special day out which brought lots of fun and smiles to children with stomas and their families.”
