The Mayor Councillor Patricia Logue hosted a joint reception for Young Scientist of the Year, Kaycee Deery, (seated from left) a Year 11 student at St. Mary’s College, who was awarded the UK Young Scientist of the Year 2023 title in June in Birmingham. It was a double celebration for the school as Nikita Morrison and Becca Connolly claimed the Intermediate Prize. The students competed against many hundreds of projects from across Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. Included are fellow researchers from Year 11 whose research will be on show in next months Sentinus Young Innovators event.Included are teachers, David Goddard, Anne Blanking, Martin Logue and Brendan McGinn, Principal.
