VOX POP: Coláiste Bhríde pupils on their favourite thing about the school

The students of Coláiste Bhríde tell The Derry News what their favourite thing is about the school and what is so special about speaking Irish, and what type of job they wanted in the future and in what way would Irish help?

Is breá liom ealáin. Is í ealaín an t-ábhar is fearr (i mo bharúil). Tá sí iontach suimiúil. Is breá liom a bheith ag labhairt leis na múinteoirí agus le mo chairde fosta. Sílim go bhfuil ár scoil iontach maith.

(I love Art. Art is the best subject (in my opinion). It is fascinating. I also love talking to the teachers and my friends. I think our school is really good.)

Tá sé speisialta mar níl teanga amháin agat. Tá sé go hiontach le bheith ábalta dhá theanga a labhairt mar níl gaeilge ag achan duine sa lá atá inniu ann. Tá sé níos fusa teanga eile a fhoghlaim fosta nuair atá cúpla teanga agat.

(It's special because you don't have one language. It's great to be able to speak two languages because nobody speaks Irish nowadays. It is also easier to learn another language when you have a few languages.)

Ba mhatih liom bheith i mo ealaíntóir mar tá suim agam san ealaín. Sílim go mbeidh níos mó deiseanna agam nuair atá mé níos sine mar gheall ar an Ghaeilge.

(I would like to be an artist because I am interested in Art. I think I will have more opportunities when I am older because of the Irish language.)
