VOX POP: Coláiste Bhríde pupils on their favourite thing about the school

The students of Coláiste Bhríde tell The Derry News what their favourite thing is about the school and what is so special about speaking Irish, and what type of job they wanted in the future and in what way would Irish help?

Aaron

Ta ionad na Gaeilge ann agus labhrann muid i nGaeilge gach lá. Tá na múinteoirí deas agus bíonn an chraic ar dóigh. Tá cairde agam i mo rang ón bhunscoil.

(There is a Irish Unit and we speak Irish every day. The teachers are nice and the fun is fun. I have friends in my class from primary school.)

Is féidir liom mo theanga náisiúnta a labhairt. Níl gaeilge ag gach duine. Tá daoine cáiliúla cosúil le ‘Kneecap’ in ann í a labhairt.

(I can speak my national language. Not everyone speaks Irish. Famous people like 'Kneecap' can speak it.)

Ba mhaith liom bheith i mo mhúinteoir. Gheobhaidh mé níos mó airgid mar tá teanga eile agam. Ba mhaith liom obair i meanscoil, b’fhéidir.

(I want to be a teacher. I will get more money because I speak another language. I would like to work in a post primary school, maybe.)
