VOX POP: Coláiste Bhríde pupils on their favourite thing about the school

The students of Coláiste Bhríde tell The Derry News what their favourite thing is about the school and what is so special about speaking Irish, and what type of job they wanted in the future and in what way would Irish help?

Meadhbh

Is fearr liom an bia. Tá rogha iontach again sa bhialann. Is breá liom peil ghaelach fosta. Imrím ar fhoireann na scoile. Is breá liom na hábhair a dhéanann muid.

(I prefer the food. We have a great selection in the restaurant. I also love Gaelic football. I play on the school team. I love the work we do.)

Cúltúr s’againn atá ann. Thig linn teanga eile a labhairt agus ní thig le gach duine sin a dhéanamh. Is rud speisialta é sin. Tá seans again ‘GCSE Irish’ a dhéanamh go luath mar chuaigh muid chun na bunscoile.

(It is our culture. We can speak another language and not everyone can do that. That is something special. We have a chance to do 'GCSE Irish' soon because we went to primary school.)

Ba mhaith liom bheith i mo thuairisceoir nuachta agus beidh mé in ann mo phost a dhéanamh trí mheán na Gaeilge agus trí mheán an Bhéarla mar gheall ar an bhua atá agam.

(I want to be a news reporter and I will be able to do my job through the medium of Irish and through the medium of English because of my talent.)
