VOX POP: Gaelcholaiste Dhoire pupils on their favourite thing about the school

The students of Gaelcholaiste Dhoire tell The Derry News what their favourite thing is about the school and what is so special about speaking Irish, and what type of job they wanted in the future and in what way would Irish help?

Naoise

Is breá liom na múinteoirí, tá siad iontach cineálta agus cairdiúil. Ní bhím riamh buartha faoi cheist a chur nó cuidiú a fháil.

I love the teachers, they are very kind and friendly. I am never worried about asking questions or asking for help.

Tá sé go hiontach bualadh le daoine nua a bhfuil Gaeilge acu agus bheith ábalta labhairt leo i dteanga na tíre.

It is great to meet new people who speak Irish and to be able to speak to them in our native language.

Ba mhaith liom bheith i mo innealtóir. B’fhéidir nach mbeadh mórán deis agam Gaeilge a úsáid sa phost sin ach tá an Ghaeilge iontach tábhachtach domsa agus beidh sí mar chuid lárnach de mo shaol i gcónaí.

I would like to be an engineer. There may not be many opportunities to use Irish in this job, but Irish is very important to me and will always be central in my life.
