Man (20) charged with assaulting police officers and drugs offence to appear in Derry court

The 20-year-old has been charged with three counts of assault on police, two counts of assault on a police designated person, and possession of a Class B controlled drug

Detectives in Derry investigating assaults on four police officers and a custody detention officer on Thursday, November 27 in the Collon Lane area, have charged a man to court.
The 20-year-old has been charged with three counts of assault on police, two counts of assault on a police designated person, and possession of a Class B controlled drug.
He is due to appear before Derry Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday, November 28.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of offences including attempted murder, remains in custody at this time as enquiries continues.
