A selection of the candidates for Mid Ulster.
Emma Sheerin (Sinn Féin)
Co-opted in 2018 to replace Ian Milne, Draperstown's Emma Sheerin will be facing the electorate for the first time this year.
One of Stormont's younger MLAs, Sheerin has served as Sinn Féin's Equality Spokesperson, and has worked locally as an activist in a number of roles.
Ian Milne polled in third place with 8,143 first preference votes in 2017, and Sheerin will be hoping to channel some of that support in her campaign.
INTERVIEW: 'Green-orange' narrative is frustrating
Liam Tunney speaks to Mid Ulster MLA Emma Sheerin about being characterised as the 'green DUP', facing the electorate for the first time and how she is making gender equality a priority.
