Keith Buchanan (DUP)
Having never served as councillor, Keith Buchanan went straight from working as an engineer to the benches of Stormont following his election in 2016, unseating party colleague Ian McCrea.
Buchanan more than doubled his first preference vote count to 9,568 in the 2017 Assembly election, before polling 12,565 in the Westminster election of the same year.
The 2019 Westminster election saw the vote reduce slightly to 10,936, but the Pomeroy man looks safe as the sole DUP MLA in the constituency.
