Derry City goal machine Georgie Kelly has received some consolation for his disappointment in the SSE Airtricity U19 National League Final at the weekend as he was named in the league's team of the year last night. The former Inishowen Academy and Aileach player was in red hot form for John Quigg's side this season as they reached the Enda McGuill Cup Final and finished runners up in the league's Northern Division table. His performances have already attracted the attentions of cross channel clubs and earned him a trial with Bristol City earlier this month. The Republic of Ireland U19 international made his first team debut at the Brandywell last month as a late substitute against Dundalk and is expected to push for a starting place in the coming weeks. Letterkenny midfielder Chris Flanagan also made the side along with defender Patrick McClean, a brother of current Ireland senior international James.
