Dozens of kids, aged 5-13 years old, recently attended a five-day Irwin’s Nutty Krust Irish FA summer football camp in Derry.
St Columb’s College in the city was the venue for the camp - one of five being staged in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area throughout July and August.
Newtownstewart Primary School and Castlederg High School also recently hosted camps, while Melvin Leisure Centre in Strabane is set to host from 29th July to 1st August – with a further camp set to take place in Foyle Arena in Derry (5th -9th August).
At the camp hosted at St Columb’s, girls and boys honed their football skills by taking part in coaching sessions that focus on passing, dribbling, 1v1s, attacking, defending, shooting and small-sided games.
The Irish FA Foundation will stage 90 football camps at more than 60 venues right across Northern Ireland this summer, including goalkeeper and girls-only camps – with young people able to develop their game and make new friends, topped off with an Irwin’s Nutty Krust goodie bag for all participants.
