The Board of Governors of St Cecilia's College have appointed Mrs Fiona Harrigan-Stewart as the school's new principal, in a poignant homecoming, Mrs Harrigan-Stewart returns to her Alma mater, bringing a wealth of experience, dedication, and a deep commitment to education and young people.
Mrs Harrigan-Stewart’s distinguished career in education spans over two decades, having had key roles in school leadership, pastoral care, and whole-school curriculum development including a one-year Fulbright Scholarship in California where she developed her expertise in teaching, leadership, and student support.
Her leadership is shaped by strong personal values of resilience, community, and service. Daughter of Jim Harrigan, former Head of Treatment at the Northlands Centre, and Kathleen Harrigan, a dedicated nurse for thirty-five years, Fiona was raised in an environment where care, compassion, and support for others were central principles that continue to underpin her work in education.

She is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and aspirational school environment where all young people are encouraged to succeed and thrive. She is an original girl in green and thrilled to be leading the next generation of exceptional young St Cecilia's women.
The Board of Governors are confident that Mrs Harrigan-Stewart will continue the exceptional work of Mrs Mary Jo O’Carolan and her team, whose dedication has ensured outstanding pupil achievement, strong wellbeing, and the school’s reputation as a leading first-choice school for girls.
