Homes have been evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious object, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
The force said “a number of homes” had been cleared as part of the security alert in the Ashford Lodge area of Newtownabbey.
Motorists and pedestrians have been asked to avoid the area.
Police said several road closures and cordons were in place around the area.
