A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court following a breach of her bail conditions.

Josie McCaughey (34) of Beraghvale in Derry was on bail for a number of charges including assault, criminal damage and assaulting police in February this year.

A part of her bail conditions included that she abide by a curfew but on November 27 police attended her address and found her absent.

This was her fourth breach, the third for curfew violations, and the court heard that she has 81 previous convictions.

Defence Barrister Sinead Rogan described the breach as 'minor' and said that there has been no new offending since her previous breach in September.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan granted bail but warned that another appearance in front of her would lead to immediate custody.
