One of North’s best known country singers to be the headline act at festival being staged by a Co Derry Gaa cub next month. Foreglen GAC’s event, aimed at bringing together current and former club members who have moved away from the area, will run from Friday, July 8 to Sunday, July 10. The proceedings will kick off on July 8 with a table quiz being held in the club from 9pm. This will be followed by music from local artists. On Saturday, July 9, sports activities for all ages will take place during the day. The festivities will continue that night with a variety concert, featuring local talent, commencing at 8pm sharp. On Sunday, July 10, there will be further sports activities and a fancy dress parade. Locals will be invited to round off the weekend and dance the night away to Tyrone country star Justin McGurk (pictured). Doors open at 9pm (admission £7.50). A spokesperson for the club said: “Foreglen GAC would like to see all those living away back at the club to enjoy the craic and reminisce. It’s expected to be a great weekend.” Tickets to Justin McGurk’s gig are now available to purchase by contacting Josie on 07835682056 / Pauline on 07783849511 or Orla on 07803003978.
