Coleraine group examines UK and NI roles in trans-Atlantic slave trade

The North Coast Association has announced that its next educational seminar will delve into the complex history of the trans-Atlantic slave trade from a United Kingdom and Northern Irish perspective.

The event will take place on Wednesday, March 12 at 2:30pm in Portballintrae Village Hall.

The keynote speaker for the afternoon is Mark Doherty, a highly regarded history researcher and a leading figure behind the acclaimed Belfast Anti-Slavery Tours.

Organised by Trevor Surgenor on behalf of the Coleraine-based association, the afternoon will conclude with tea and refreshments.

Entry is priced at £20 for members and £25 for non-members, with enquiries welcome via 028 703 57674.
