Arrest warrant issued as Derry burglary suspect fails to appear

Suspended sentence for Donegal man at Derry Magistrate's Court

A man who was due to face a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today on four charges of commercial burglaries failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest. 

Maurice O'Shea (35) of Westland Street in Derry is facing a charge of burglary at St Augustine's Church on May 7 2025.

He also faced two counts of burglary at the Pickled Duck on the Quay on March 16 and March 17 2025.

O'Shea was also charged with a burglary at the Walled City Brewery on March 20 this year.

The case was due to be a Preliminary Enquiry when it would have been decided if the case was to go to the Crown Court but when his name was called he failed to appear. 

A warrant was issued for his arrest.
