Derry Magistrate's Court
A man who told police he was going to kill his brother has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today.
Gareth Browne (25) of Clon Elagh in Derry admitted a charge of disorderly behaviour and making a threat to kill on January 15 2025.
The court heard that police were called to an incident where Browne was 'agitated and shouting' in the street.
He was warned to calm down but he refused and then made a comment to police that they should go to his brother's house as 'I will kill him'.
Defence counsel Stephen Chapman said that there was no dispute that the comment was made no a dispute between brothers.
District Judge Ted Magill said the comment had been made 'after a row' but the defendant had not wasted court time.
Browne was fined £100 and given a two year conditional discharge.
