Santosh Kumari Chada, 1 Cedar Avenue, Magherafelt

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Santosh Kumari Chada (Magherafelt), November 2 2025, late of 1 Cedar Avenue, beloved wife of the late Dharam Vir Chada and loving mother of Nira Kumari and Naresh Kumar, daughter of the late Balwant Rai and Ram Pyari and sister of Jeet Rai and Permodh and of the late Raj Kumari, Janak Dulari and Madan Lal. Santosh’s remains are reposing in McCusker Bros Funeral Home, Garden Street, Magherafelt, viewing on Thursday, November 13 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, November 14 at 3.00pm in Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium and can be viewed via webcast Watch | Obitus. (Username: tona3045; Pin: 276455). The “Thanksgiving Reception” after the funeral will be at Corr's Corner, Corr’s Corner Hotel, 315 Ballyclare Road, Newtownabbey, BT36 4TQ on Friday, November 14 from approximately 3.45pm. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing son, daughter, son in law Hans Raj, daughter in law Charu and grandchildren Roshni, Deepa, Amrit, Milan, Sachin, Paul, Andy and Han, great granddaughters Valentina, Callista and Nina and all nephews, nieces and our extended family circle. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the British Heart Foundation.

 

Joan Curry (née Courtney), Longfield, Eglinton

The death has taken place of the late Joan Curry (née Courtney), November 4 2025, peacefully at home in her 100th year, beloved wife of the late John, loving mother of Peter, Gerry, Carol, Jackie and Tina, mother-in-law of Caroline, Georgie, Aidan, Brian and Kyle , a much loved grandmother, great-grandmother and dear sister of the late Gerry. Joan’s remains will be reposing in her home, Longfield, Eglinton, from 12noon – 8.00pm on Wednesday. Funeral service will take place in W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Thursday at 2o’clock, A private cremation will take place later. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to a charity of your choice. I did it all just to see the children smile.

 

Paddy Flanagan, 24 Hillview Avenue, Prehen, Derry

The death has taken place of Paddy Flanagan, November 2 2025, suddenly, beloved husband of Paula, loving father of Sian, cherished son of Patricia and the late Eamon and dear brother of Sean, Michael, Margaret, Geraldine, Pauline, Eamon, Kevin, Seamus and Noel. Paddy’s remains will be reposing in his home, 24 Hillview Avenue, Prehen, on Wednesday from 11.00am - 9.00pm and Thursday from 11.00am to 8.00pm. Funeral from there on Friday at 10.20am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Trench Road. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Celine Grace Gallagher, Brooklyn, New York (Formerly of 33 Hamilton Street, Derry)

The death has occurred of the late Celine Grace Gallagher, September 8 2025, peacefully at home in Brooklyn, New York, loving mother of Cara, devoted grandmother of Emma-Rose, dear mother-in-law to Stephen, beloved daughter of the late John and Mary-Rose Gallagher, (formerly of 33 Hamilton Street) and a cherished sister to her deceased brothers and sisters. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Columba’s Church, Long Tower on Friday, November 7 at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady Of Knock intercede for her.

 

Angela Hutton (née Gallagher), 74 Thornhill Park, Culmore, Derry

The death has taken place of Angela Hutton (née Gallagher), November 3 2025, peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family at Altnagelvin Hospital, (formerly of Melmore Gardens), beloved wife of John, loving mother of Eamonn, Damien and Shauna, dear mother-in-law to Catriona and Daniel, devoted grandmother of Conor, Sophie-Rose, Cian, Annie and Holly, dear daughter of the late George and Sophia, cherished sister of Aidan, Seamus, Bernie, Alex, George, Gerry, Helen, Anne, Fiona, Paul and the late Sean and a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Angela will be reposing at her home 74 Thornhill Park, Culmore on Tuesday, November 4 from 5:00pm. Funeral leaving her home on Thursday, November 6 at 9:20am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Gerard (Foxy) McConnell, 148 Westway, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerard (Foxy) McConnell, peacefully at his home, after a long illness bravely borne, surrounded by his loving family on November 4, 2025. Late of 148 Westway. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of Patricia. Devoted father of Rachael. Loving step-father of the late Emmett. Dearest father-in-law of Danny. Precious granda of Leon and Lana. Cherished son of the late Ambrose and Philomena McConnell. A much-loved brother of Philly, Vera, Ambrose, KA, Lizzy, Paddy, James and the late John, Anne, Ray, Caroline, Michael-Paul. Dear son-in-law of Maureen and the late Frank Mooney. A much-loved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, friend and neighbour. Gerard's remains will be reposing at his daughter Rachael's home, 30 Inishowen Garden's. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, November 6 at 10:30am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. The death has occurred of the late David Alexander McSparron, November 3 2025, Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by his loving family in his 72nd year) much loved and devoted husband of Amanda, loving father of Stuart, Jennifer, David and Gemma, dearest father-law of Deborah, adored granda of Max, Charlie and Harry, a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Service of Thanksgiving in his late home, 31 Silverbrook Park, Newbuildings on Thursday, November 6 at 1.00pm followed by burial in Mountcastle Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired (cheques made payable) to Cancer Research c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. Everyone is welcome to call at the family home on Wednesday, November 6 from 11.00am until 9.00pm. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. “God’s garden must be beautiful, he only picks the best”

It is with deep regret and sorrow we announce the passing of Ann Quigley (née Kelly), November 3 2025, peacefully at her home, 109 Fergleen Park, beloved wife of the late Hugh, loving mother of Hugh, Helen, Paula and Tony, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished sister of Joan and all her deceased family. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Ann will be reposing at her home on Wednesday from 11:00am to 10:00pm. Funeral leaving her home on Thursday, November 6 at 10:30am to St. Joseph’s Church, Galliagh for Requiem Mass at 11:00am. Prof. David Robinson, Newtown, Knockbridge (Formerly of Waterside, Derry)

The death has occurred of Prof. David Robinson, Passed away on Saturday, November 1 2025, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Late of Newtown, Knockbridge and formerly of Waterside, Derry. Predeceased by his parents David and Elizabeth. Dearly loved husband of Lorna (née Ahearn) and beloved father of Charles and Natasha. David will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love by his wife, son, daughter, daughter-in-law Louise, brothers Maurice [Scotland] and Ken [South Africa], brother-in-law Noel, sisters-in-law Gloria and Berna, Irene and Yvonne, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and many friends near and far. It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Sarah Philomena (Sheila) Strawbridge (née McGarrigle), November 4 2025, beloved wife of the late William, loving mother of Paul, Karen, Kevin, Damian, Colin, Ciaran, Sarah and the late Gary, a much loved mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter of the late James and Mary Josephine McGarrigle and dear sister of Margaret, Maureen, James, Kathleen, Willie, Christine and the late Hugo. Sheila’s remains will be reposing in her home, 13 Knockwellan Park, BT47 2JB, from 12noon – 10,00pm on Wednesday. Funeral from there on Thursday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Trench Road. Interment afterwards in Altnagelvin Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
