Derry man returned for trial on domestic abuse charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on assault and criminal damage charges.

Ryan Martin Tracey (34) of Mimosa Court in Derry appeared at a Preliminary Enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today. 

He was charged with assaulting a female on October 18 2024 and the offence is aggravated by domestic abuse. 

He was also charged with criminal damage to clothing belonging to the same woman and breaching a Restraining Order on the same date. 

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

Tracey said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on November 18 and remanded in continuing custody.
