Derry man faces charges of domestic abuse assault and threats to damage property

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with domestic abuse offences. 

Michael Gerard Boyle (59) of Lettershandoney Avenue in Derry appeared charged with assaulting a female aggravated by domestic abuse on October 21.

He was also charged with threatening to damage or destroy property again aggravated by domestic abuse on the same date.

A police officer connected the accused to the charges. 

Defence solicitor Conor McGurk said that bail had been agreed subject to the court with conditions. 

The police officer outlined the conditions that the defendant was not to enter Lettershandoney and to have no contact with the alleged injured party or a witness. 

He will appear again on November 13.
