Former Convent of Mercy in Derry's Pump Street.
Derry City and Strabane District Council is continuing to "proactively engage" with the owners of the former Convent of Mercy in Pump Street, a spokesperson has told The Derry News.
Part of the building collapsed at the weekend, resulting in the street being cordoned off, with disruption to residents and businesses.
The Council spokesperson described the condition of the listed building as an "urgent issue".
They added: "In the interim the area continues to be cordoned off in the interests of health and safety and urgent meetings are taking place throughout today between Council, the premises owners, and relevant statutory agencies to deal with this issue and further updates will be provided when information is available."
There are online reports the building is to be demolished early on Wednesday morning. It is unclear whether or not this is partial
Businesses in the locality have been advised there will be no electricity in the vicinity.
The Derry News has contacted the owners of the building for comment, as well as the Department for Commumities' Historical Buildings Division, Inner City Trust and Foyle Civic Trust.
