The environmental cost of Stormont’s ‘Going For Growth' strategy will be explored at the Think Left conference.
The Think Left Conference runs from October 3 to 5, in St Columb's Hall, in Derry, and 'Open for Business - Who Pays the Price for Environmental Crime?' will take place on Saturday, October 4, at 10:45am.
Explaining the importance of the workshop, conference co-organiser, Anita Villa said: "From Mobuoy - the biggest illegal landfill site on the shores of the Faughan - to the destruction of Lough Neagh, a war has been waged in our natural environment.
"Huge corporations and private individuals have been backed with our money by the Stormont Executive to destroy the environment with no consequences for themselves. Profits for billion pound enterprises have been prioritised over clean drinking water for the people.
"This has to change and we are pleased to have an esteemed panel of environmental campaigners to help us understand the damage that has been done and how we rectify it."
The Think Left Conference details can be found on social media. The event is free but pre-booking is encouraged. Register here: https://tinyurl.com/jkn3nnpj
