The murder scene at Harvey Street
There would be further delays in the case of a local man charged with murder, Derry Magistrates' Court was told today.
Ciaran Murray (29) of Gortfoyle Place in Derry is charged with the murder of Montserrat Elias on August 24 last.
He is also charged with rape and arson on the same date.
At today's hearing a prosecutor told the court that a request had been received from the new Deputy Investigating Officer for 'ammendments' to the file before it could be submitted.
She said there was also an identification procedure to be carried out which would lead to further delay.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said he had no objection to another adjournment.
The case was adjourned until June 12 and Murray remains in custody.
The body of Montserrat Elias was found after a fire was discovered in a house in Harvey Street last August.
