Derry and District Beekeeping Association launch new introductory course

The course will take place in An Culturlann from February 13.

The Derry and District Beekeeping Association (DDBKA) are launching a six-week classroom based introductory course to beekeeping.

The programme will run for six consecutive Tuesday evenings, from 7.30pm – 9.30pm at An Culturlann, 37 Great James St. The course begins on Tuesday, February 13.

The course fee is £40.

This is an informal programme of six sessions covering the year of a beekeeper, workings of a bee colony, pollen, nectar, equipment, controlling bees, honey production, problem solving, pest and disease management.

On completion of the programme, participants have the opportunity to take their interest to the next level by becoming a DDBKA member.
