A 36-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences following a burglary at commercial premises in the Newmarket Street area of Derry on Saturday, 6th May.
The charges include aggravated burglary with intent to commit unlawful damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and criminal damage.
He is due to appear before Derry Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8th May.
Sergeant McGurk said: "It was reported just before 3.00pm that a man had gained entry to the premises in the Newmarket Street area.
"A short time later, police arrested a man, aged in his thirties, on suspicion of a number of offences.
"Our investigation is at an early stage and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1099 of 6/5/23."
