Sports clothing company O'Neill's has agreed to remove Puma products from its Derry store, it has been confirmed.
The clothing company stocks Puma products which sponsors the Israel Football Association (IFA).
The move follows representations from the Derry branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC).
Derry IPSC commended O'Neill's decision to remove the products from its Waterloo Place store.
A spokesperson for Derry IPSC campaign said: "This is a significant victory for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement and a testament to the power of collective action.
"We would like to thank the workers at O'Neill's for their support and cooperation in this matter.
"We call on O'Neill's to implement this policy across all their businesses and sever all links with Puma.
"Puma is the main sponsor of the Israel Football Association (IFA), which includes teams in Israel’s illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian land.
"This is the second major local victory for the BDS movement in recent months, with Home Bargains also removing Israeli goods from their shelves.
"We call on other retailers to follow suit and take a stand against human rights abuses and violations of international law.
"Derry is united against the Apartheid State and the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
"We urge all shop workers to refuse to handle any goods on the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions list.
"Derry is becoming an apartheid free zone. BDS works. Let's keep up the pressure."
