Margaret Elizabeth Barton (née Olphert), Derry

The death has occurred of the late Margaret Elizabeth Barton (née Olphert), April 16 2026, Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by her loving family after a short illness courageously borne) much loved wife of Tommy, devoted mum of Carol-Ann, Tammy and Kenneth, loving mother-in-law of Paul, Gary and Kirsty, adored nanny, dearest sister of Gary, Clive, Ian, Heather, Philip, Stephen and the late Samuel and Caroline, a dear sister-in-law and aunt. Service of Thanksgiving in her brother Ian’s home, 33 Kinsale Park, Caw, on Monday, April 20 at 12.00noon, followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to Cancer Research U.K c/o MRS Ruth HAY, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. Everyone is welcome to call at Ian’s home on Saturday and Sunday from 11.00am until 9.00pmy. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her entire family circle. “The Lord is my Shepherd” “God’s garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best”

 

Brian Devlin, Derry (Formerly of Omagh)

The death has taken place of Brian Devlin, April 16 2026, (Derry, formerly Gortrush Park, Omagh). Former husband of Marian. Father of Joanne. Brother of James (Jim) and Brendan. Remains reposing today (Saturday) at his brother's residence, 46 Dromore Road, Omagh. House strictly Private. Requiem Mass on Monday, April 20 2026 at 10.00am in Sacred Heart Church, Omagh with burial afterwards in St. Mary's Cemetery Drumragh. On his soul sweet Jesus have mercy. Deeply regretted by his former wife, daughter, brothers and extended family.

 

Philomena Gormley (née McNulty), 53 Abercorn Road, Derry

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Philomena Gormley (née McNulty), suddenly but peacefully, at home on the 16th of April 2026. May she rest in peace. Late of 53 Abercorn Road, Derry BT48 6TQ. Beloved wife of Brian. Loving mother of Sharon McGinley (Paul), Claire Jones (Gareth), Paul and Aisling. Devoted granny of Dáire, Daibhin, Olivia, Naoise, Jack and Murphy. Dear sister of Patsy, Bernadette, Frances, Mary, Sadie, Rosaleen, Margaret, Martin, Josie and Claire. Deeply regretted by the Gormley and McNulty family circles. Reposing at her late home. Family time 10.00pm to 12noon. Funeral on Monday, April 20 2026 leaving her late home at 9.35am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in Long Tower Church, Derry.

Henry John (Harry) McCullagh, 31 Scroggy Road, Limavady

The death has taken place of the late Henry John (Harry) McCullagh, passed away peacefully at his own home, 31 Scroggy Road, Limavady. Much loved husband of the late Netta, loving father of Iain, Sharon and the late Derek. Devoted grandfather of Kathryn, Gary, Freddie, Harry and Sam. Also a dear Great Grandfather. House private, close friends and family only please between 11.00am and 8.00pm. Funeral will leave his late home on Monday at 1.15pm for service in Christ Church Limavady at 2.00pm followed by burial in adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please donations if desired and cheques payable to Parkinson UK NI and forwarded to Browns Funeral Directors, 21 Aghanloo Ind Est. Aghanloo Road, Limavady. Harry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his entire family circle.

 

Claire McCurdy, Ballymena (Formerly of 16 Gloucester Crescent, Portstewart)

The death has occurred of the late Claire McCurdy, April 17 2026, peacefully at Rose Court Nursing Home, Ballymena, formerly of 16 Gloucester Crescent, Portstewart. Dearly loved wife of Edward, loving mother of Michael and Leigh, mother-in-law of Joy and Richard, much loved grandmother of Caitlin, Eva, Phoebe, Amy and Charlotte and dear sister of Kirby and Pauline. House private. Funeral service in Agherton Parish Church, Portstewart on Tuesday, April 21 2026 at 12noon followed by a private family interment in Portstewart Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Declan Smith, Derry

The death has taken place of Declan Smith, went home to Jesus on April 16 2026, loving husband of Cherie, devoted stepfather of Brogán and Caoimhán, darling son of Maureen and Tony, dear brother of Tony and his partner Grainne, much loved son-in-law of Liam and Paula Kelly and a dear brother-in-law, uncle and nephew. Declan will be reposing in his parents home, 10 Deanery Street on Saturday and Sunday from 12noon - 8.00pm. Funeral service will take place in W.J. O'Brien and Son's Funeral Home, Eglinton, BT473PU, on Monday at 1o'clock. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if wished to Christian Family Centre NI, 21 Carrowreagh Road, Armoy, BT53 8SX. Declan will be forever loved and deeply missed by family, friends and all who had the blessing of knowing him.

 

Jordan Stinson, 68 Cappagh Avenue, Portstewart

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Jordan Stinson, April 15 2026 (suddenly), 68 Cappagh Avenue, Portstewart, dearly loved son of Gary and the late Jean, step-son of Lesley, devoted partner of Shannon, much loved grandson of Ann and the late George, Noel and Joan and a much loved nephew and cousin. Service in St. Patrick’s Parish Church Ballymoney on Tuesday at 2.00pm followed by interment in Ballymoney Cemetery. House strictly private. No Flowers please. Donations in lieu if desired for Zachary Geddis Trust c/o Ivan Murdock and Sons, 31 Bushmills Road, Coleraine. Sadly missed by his loving family and entire family circle. “Our hearts are breaking.”

 

Patrick (Paddy) Strawbridge, Glenanne (formerly of Lecky Road, Derry)

The death has occurred of the late Patrick (Paddy) Strawbridge, April 16 2026, peacefully at Edenballymore Lodge Care Home, (late of Glenanne, formerly of Lecky Road), beloved husband of Una, loving father of Eileen (John) and Rosemary, devoted granda to Patrick, Ashley and Jude and great-granda to Alec, Noah and Patrick, cherished son of the late Paddy and Nora (Donegal Place) and a dear and loving brother of Noreen, Rosemary and the late Kathleen, Maura and Eilish. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, April 18 in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him.

 

Madge Walls (née Donnelly), 47 Luney Road, Desertmartin

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of the late Madge Walls (née Donnelly), April 17 2026. Madge passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family following a long illness. Dearly loved wife of Hugh Emmett, Beloved Mother of Conrad (Mary-Mae), Ursula (Damien), Declan (Angela), Charlene (Anthony), Bronagh (Johnny), Ciaran(Natasha) and Orlagh (Mel). Loving Grandmother to Caolan, Ellie-Marie, Oisín, Ronan, Rian, Maria, Kian, Tárlach, Cádhla and Neva. Dear sister of Barbara (Sam), Maurice and the late William, Samuel, Glenda and Gladys. Sister in law of Veronica, Barney, Olive, Gerard, Nuala, Christopher, the late Patsy, Frankie and Martin RIP and the wider family circle. Madge’s remains will repose at her residence. The wake for Madge will commence from 11.00am on Saturday, April 18. Requiem Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Coolcalm, 2.00pm on Sunday, April 19 via webcam St. Mary’s, Desertmartin . Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Family time after 11.00pm. Deeply regretted by her husband, sons, daughters, grandchildren, brother, sister, nephews, nieces and extended family circle. Our Lady of Knock, pray for her. May she Rest in Peace..
