Man charged with possession of an offensive weapon and drugs offences granted bail

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court charged with criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon, namely a hammer, and two counts of possession of Class C drugs.

Stephen O'Kane (37) of Fanad Drive in Derry was charged with the offences that were said to have occurred on April 16.

Bail was agreed to by police under a number of conditions including that he reside at an address approved by police, have no contact with the alleged injured parties and follow a curfew.

He will appear again on May 14.
