The multi award winning film 'Tides - A History of lives and dreams lost and found (some broken)' about the River Foyle has had its US Premiere in Chicago, Illinois.

The film is part of Seattle Irish Reel Festival and will be screened on Saturday 11th March at the Seattle Centre at 4pm.

Director Alessandro Negrini who attended the screening and met the audience in Chicago said: "I'm thrilled and emotional to see how this little but universal story is travelling around the world."

TIDES is the visionary and dreamlike portrait of the River Foyle, narrated from the point of view of the river, in a sort of magical and surreal autobiography.

The film won the Best Documentary Award in Malta last December.

Since its release last June, Tides has won six international awards.

It has recently scooped the International Documentary Award at Foggia Film Festival, where the film was presented the award by renowned film director Michele Placido (Romanzo Criminale - Criminal Novel).

The film also recently won the Special Mention Award in Rome at On The Road Film Festival and Special Mention for Best Film at Milan.

The film was also recognised at the International Film Festival, for Best Cinematography Award at Sole Luna Film Festival in Palermo and the Best Film Soundtrack at Treviso Doc Festival.
