Sinéad McLaughlin (SDLP)
Another candidate facing into her first Assembly election will be the SDLP's Sinéad McLaughlin, who was co-opted into the seat following Colum Eastwood's election to Westminster in January 2020.
A former Chief Executive of Londonderry Chamber of Commerce, she had also been co-opted onto Derry City and Strabane District Council the previous January.
During the subsequent 2019 council elections, McLaughlin polled the second highest number of first preference votes.
