DUP election candidates: Chelsea Cooke, Niree McMorris, Gary Wilkinson and Julie Middleton.
The Democratic Unionist Party has announced four candidates for the Faughan and Waterside areas of Derry City and Strabane District Council in the forthcoming Local Government Elections.
The elections take place on May 18 and will see a total of 462 councillors elected across 11 local councils across the North.
The DUP candidates Chelsea Cooke and Niree McMorris will stand in the Waterside District Electoral Area, whilst Julie Middleton and Gary Wilkinson will be the Party’s candidates in the Faughan area.
Foyle MLA Gary Middleton said: “Chelsea, Niree, Julie and Gary represent a strong team of DUP candidates to represent the people of Londonderry.
"Current Waterside Councillor Niree McMorris will be joined by three new candidates, who are all under the age of 40. They bring enthusiasm and energy as well as a fresh perspective in articulating the needs of people across the Waterside and surrounding rural communities. They will look to build on the long standing track record of previous DUP public representatives.
"People have been uniting around the DUP and by returning DUP Councillors, the people of Londonderry can ensure they have a strong positive voice on Council.”
