Sam Todd has signed for Premier Division club Bohemians from Derry City on a multi-year contract.
The Carndonagh man joins from Derry City with a wealth of experience, having amassed 231 first-team appearances in a playing career that also saw the 27-year-old line out for Finn Harps, UCD and Larne.
Todd said: “I am delighted to be here, it’s a massive club and the fans are unbelievable. I know there is an expectation to achieve here at Bohs, and I’m looking forward to that.
“Qualifying for Europe this year was huge for the club and that’s something I am really excited for next year. I’ve been lucky enough to experience Europa Conference League football before, so I know how big those games are and what they mean to the players, fans and the club.
“It’s an important year for the club. It’s also the last in such an iconic venue before Dalymount is redeveloped, so everyone wants to make it a year to remember, and I’m looking forward to that challenge and getting going.”
Welcoming Todd to Dalymount Park, manager Alan Reynolds said: “We are delighted to bring a player of Sam’s calibre into the club. He’s coming here with a lot of experience but a lot of hunger too.
“He’s a good age at 27, I feel he’s coming into the prime of his career so we are looking forward to him playing his best football yet.
“He’s big, he’s strong, plays on the left side of defence, and I feel that he will fit in perfectly for what we are trying to build and achieve here.”
