Derry City FC Women begin search for new manager

Derry City Women are beginning the search for a new manager following the resignation of Paul Dixon and his coaching staff.

Jarlath Canning and Chris Dunne will now take charge of first team coaching duties.

In a statement, the club said: "Derry City FC Women’s committee have accepted the resignation of Paul Dixon and his coaching staff with immediate effect.

"We would like to thank Paul and his team for their contribution over the last two seasons, in particular, leading the club to a highest ever 5th placed finish last season.

"We wish Paul, Johnny and Peter the very best for the future.

"Jarlath Canning and Chris Dunne will now take over first team coaching duties whilst the club begin the search for a new first team head coach."

Last Friday night Derry began their 2025 Sports Direct Women's Premiership campaign against Crusaders, suffering a 4-2 defeat.

Derry City FC women are back in league action this Friday night (7.45pm) with their first match of the season in the Brandywell as they welcome Cliftonville as visitors.
