Foyle Harps ended another successful D&D season with an emphatic victory over Newell in the Jimbo Crossan League Cup final at Clooney Park West.

Last week, Newell shocked Harps with victory in the Terry Kelly Cup final, but a repeat was never on the cards with Harps clearly determined from the start.

Newell goalkeeper Taylor Clarke, who produced a 'Man of the Match' performance in last week's game, was on course to do it again with a sensational performance in the first 15 minutes alone, including a penalty save from Calvin McCallion.

The breakthrough was inevitable though and Shane Boyle was the player to open the scoring with a tidy finish from a corner.

It was 2-0 on the half hour as Clarke saved from McCallion again, but the rebound fell perfectly for Aaron McLaughlin to tap home.

Newell had a number of chances to get back into the game, but the game was over when Dee Dee Campbell finished from close range midway through the second half.

McCallion then finally beat Clarke to make it 4-0 with Harps adding this trophy to the McAlinden Cup.
