City of Derry Airport team with St Vincent de Paul
In the true spirit of the season of giving, Santa Claus joined the City of Derry Airport team this week to spread some Christmas cheer and support families across our local community with a gift donation for the wonderful organisations of the St Vincent de Paul Society and The Salvation Army based in Derry.
Steve Frazer, Managing Director at City of Derry Airport, expressed his pride in supporting the St Vincent de Paul Society and The Salvation Army: “Although Christmas brings feelings of joy and happiness, it can be an incredibly difficult and pressurising time for families who are struggling financially.
“With the heartfelt kindness and support of our wonderful partners, Sports Entertainment Tours, Derry City Football Club and Northern Light Aviation, toys, gift vouchers and a selection of Christmas treats have been delivered to the St Vincent de Paul Society and The Salvation Army to help any local families who are struggling this year.
"These two amazing organisations work tirelessly to help families in our community, and we feel there is no better gift than supporting them in bringing joy to homes across the Northwest this Christmas.
“A sincere thank you to Sports Entertainment Tours, Derry City Football Club and Northern Light Aviation, and of course Santa Claus, as this simply wouldn’t have been possible without their support.”

The Salvation Army receive City of Derry Airport Donation
A spokesperson for St Vincent de Paul said: "Families are faced with impossible choices of whether to heat the home, put food on the table or place gifts under the tree. St Vincent de Paul volunteers work tirelessly at this time of year to help ensure that no child wakes up to an empty Christmas."
Captain Sharon Stevens of The Salvation Army branch in Derry said: “The Salvation Army are grateful for the donations collected for our toy appeal this year. We are finding more and more families in need each year, so these gifts really help us to provide for these families so that no child goes without at Christmas.”
