Derry businesses urged to join 'Breastfeeding Welcome Here' scheme

Derry businesses are being urged to join a new scheme aimed at supporting breastfeeding mothers.

The Public Health Agency’s “Breastfeeding Welcome Here,” which is being supported by the Western Health Trust, aims to make it easier for mums to recognise places where they can breastfeed.

A Trust spokesperson said: “If local businesses and organisations make it clear they are supportive of breastfeeding mothers, many will be more confident about breastfeeding and more likely to continue for longer.

“Any business which is open to the general public is eligible to join the scheme.”
