Dolores Bonner, (née Doherty), Derry

It is with regret we announce the passing of Dolores Bonner, (née Doherty), April 21 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, (formerly of Westland Avenue), beloved wife of the late Bill, loving mother of Mary, devoted grandmother of Stephen, David, Michael, Ryan and great-grandmother, cherished sister of Brendan and Geraldine and a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Loved and will be sadly missed by her wider family circle. Dolores will be reposing at her daughter Mary’s home, 13 Joseph Place. Funeral leaving 13 Joseph’s Place on Thursday, April 23 at 9:20am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for her.

 

Sidonie Canning (née Cooke), Downland Road, Limavady

The death has occurred of the late Sidonie Canning (née Cooke), April 21 2026, Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Late of Downland Road, Limavady. Dear sister of the late Margaret Lawlor and James Cooke R.I.P. A much loved aunt of Martina, Declan, Sharon, Marius, Karen Michelle, Leanne and Colin. Deeply regretted by all the family circle and her many friends. Family and friends welcome at O’Brien’s of Limavady Funeral Home; 10 Ballyclose Street. Limavady on Wednesday, April 22 from 4.00pm to 7.00pm and Thursday, April 23 from 3.00pm. Funeral will leave funeral home on Thursday, April 23 at 4.30pm to repose in St Aidan’s Church Magilligan from 5.00pm. Brian Gillespie, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Brian Gillespie, April 21 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Amanda, dear son of the late John and Celine, cherished brother of Linda and Ursula and a loving uncle to his nephews and nieces. Loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Brian will be reposing at Bradley & McLaughlin’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 22 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Funeral leaving Bradley & McLaughlin’s Funeral Home on Thursday, April 23 at 1:30pm to the City Cemetery for funeral service at 2:00pm. At Rest.

 

Charles (Charlie) Gillespie, 19 Lenamore Gardens, Derry

The death has taken place of Charles (Charlie) Gillespie, April 21 2026, peacefully at Rushall Care Home, Limavady, beloved husband of the late Jennifer, loving father of Paul, Noel and the late Sean and Christopher, a much loved father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear brother of Jean and the late Christy, Terence, Margaret and Patsy. Charlie will be reposing in his home, 19 Lenamore Gardens. Funeral from there on Thursday at 9.30am for 10o'clock Requiem Mass in St Brigid's Church, Carnhill. Interment afterwards in St Aengus' Cemetery, Burt. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to Alzheimer's Society. Sarah Eliza (Betty) McAfee, Hazlett Court, Coleraine

The death has taken place of Sarah Eliza (Betty) McAfee, April 20 2026, (peacefully) at hospital, late of Killowen House and Hazlett Court, Coleraine, dearly beloved wife of the late William, loving mother of Isobel, William, Joe, Rosemary, Annie and Peter, a much loved mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Service in Ballywatt Presbyterian Church on Thursday at 2.00pm followed by interment in the adjoining Burying Ground. Family and friends welcome at Murdock’s Funeral Home, 2a Windsor Avenue, Coleraine on Wednesday between 6.00pm and 9.00pm. Deeply regretted by her loving family and entire family circle.

 

Brendan McClafferty, 92 Ravenhill Avenue, Belfast (Formerly of Derry)

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Brendan McClafferty, suddenly at his home on April 20 2026. Late of 92 Ravenhill Avenue, Belfast and formerly of 9A St. John’s Park, Derry. May he rest in peace. Beloved son of the late Billy and Grace. Loving brother of Paul, Declan, Deirdre and Ronan. A much loved brother-in-law and dearest uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends. Brendan’s remains will be reposing at his brother Declan’s home, 61 Whitehill, Muff, F93 E658. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, April 23 at 9:15am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn. William Anthony (Tony) McLaughlin, Rathbeg Drive, Limavady

The death has taken place of the late William Anthony (Tony) McLaughlin, April 21 2026, peacefully at Deanfield Care Home and formerly of Rathbeg Drive, Limavady, beloved husband of the late Margaret, loving father of James, Ciaran, Dermot and Deirdre, father-in-law of Michelle, Geraldine, Lorna and Liam, devoted grandfather of Lauren, Cat, Eoin, Ryan, Niamh, Ben and Rose, great-grandfather of Callum and dear brother of Maureen, Rita, Noeleen, Ena, Brendan, Maura, Phonsie and the late Tesse, Tommy, Kathleen and Ann. Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at W J O'Brien & Son's Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Wednesday from 6.00 - 9.00pm and Thursday from 4.30pm - 6.00pm. Service in D & R Hay & Sons, Funeral Home, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ on Saturday at 8.30am followed by Cremation in Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan, at 11.00am. The death has occurred of the late Christina Tosh (née Osborne), April 19 2026, (suddenly) at hospital, 73 Greenmount Avenue, Coleraine, dearly loved wife of Norman, much loved mother of Ryan (Joanne) and the late Paul, devoted granny of Lewis, Sonny, Niamh and Noah and a beloved sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Funeral from her home on Thursday at 9.30am for Requiem Mass in St. Johns Church at 10.00am and afterwards to the adjoining cemetery.
