Robert Ross (Rob) Anthony, 112 Caw Hill Park, Derry

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of the late Robert Ross (Rob) Anthony, January 18 2025, Peacefully at Edenvale Nursing Home, Limavady (surrounded by his loving family in his 94th year) much loved husband of the late Marie, devoted father of Ross, loving father-in-law of Pamela, adored grandpa of Allan, Richard, wife Louise and Jane, great-grandpa of Ryan, Millie and Maggie. Funeral leaving his late home, 112 Caw Hill Park on Wednesday, 22 January at 12.00noon followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in D. & R. Hay and Sons, Funeral Home, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ at 12.30pm, burial afterwards in Altnagelvin Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to St. Augustine’s Church, c/o Mrs. Deirdre Amor, 26 Stoneypath, Victoria Road, Derry BT47 2AF. Everyone is welcome to call at his late home on Monday from 6.00pm till 9.00pm and Tuesday from 6.00pm till 9.00pm. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. “The day Thou gavest Lord is ended“

 

Adrian (Adey) Catherwood, 52a Main Street, Castledawson

The death has occurred of the late Adrian (Adey) Catherwood, January 19 2025 (peacefully) at his home, 52a Main Street, Castledawson,  dearly loved father of Tommy, much loved and devoted son of Margaret and the late Tommy, loving brother of Leanne, Judith, Jacquline, Keith and the late Heather and Gareth, dear brother-in-law of Davy, Marc and Alan and cherished uncle of Jordan, Nicole, Bethany, Paige, James and Jack. Family and friends welcome at his home on Monday (January 20) and Tuesday (January 21) from 12noon to 10:00pm. Funeral from his home on Wednesday (January 22) at 1:15pm for service in St Lurach’s Parish Church, Maghera at 2:00pm (approx.) followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, for The Cancer Centre, Belfast City Hospital and Marie Curie Nursing payable to Garvin’s Funeral Service (Donation’s A/c), 15 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, BT45 6BP. Padraig Deeny, 27 Ballyrory Road, Craigbane, Claudy

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Padraig Deeny, suddenly but peacefully, at home on January 19 2025. May he rest in peace. Late of 27 Ballyrory Road, Craigbane, Claudy, Co Derry. Father of Chloe and Michelle. Beloved son of Patsy and the late Veronica R.I.P and dear brother of Barry (Eimear), Pearse (Gemma) and Tracey (Jude). Deeply regretted by his father brothers, sister, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and the entire family circle. Wake and funeral arrangements later. Sacred Padre Pio pray for him. Dorette Douglas, Limavady

The death has taken place of the late Dorette Douglas, Passed away peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on January 18 2025. Much loved wife of James, loving Mother of Tim and Kelly. Dear Mother in law of Gillian, devoted Grandmother of Harry, Oliver and Quinn also a dear sister. House strictly private. All welcome to call at Browns Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7.00pm to 10.00pm. Requiem mass will be held in Christ The King, Limavady on Wednesday at 10.00am followed by burial in Enagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired and cheques payable to WHSCT Altnagelvin Hospital and forwarded to Browns Funeral Directors, 21 Aghanloo Ind Est. Aghanloo Road, Limavady. Will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her entire family circle.

 

Colm (Scaldy) McClelland, 6A Mimosa Court, Gobnascale, Derry

We regret to inform you that the death has occurred of the late Colm (Scaldy) McClelland, January 19 2025, peacefully at his home, 6A Mimosa Court, Gobnascale, beloved partner of Paula, loving father of Colm, Nikita, Nadine, Dearbhaile, Davina, Elana and Connolly, devoted grandfather of Bre, Shanika, Madison, Daná, Mike Og, Cairín, Colton, Cohén, Elliott and Dutton. His remains will be reposing in his home from 11.00am on Monday. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 11.50am for 12.30pm Requiem Mass in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Trench Road. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s cemetery, Ardmore. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE or Huntingtons Disease Association. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

 

Jeremiah McLaughlin, 10 Meadowbank Place, Greysteel

The death has occurred of the late Jeremiah McLaughlin, January 18 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of the late Netta, loving father of Fabian and Marylee, much loved grandfather (Da) of Patrick and dear brother of Brigid, Martha, Pauline, Libby and the late Vincent, Isa, Gerard and Seamus. His remains will be reposing in his home, 10 Meadowbank Place, Greysteel. Funeral from there on Tuesday at 11.25am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

 

Brendan Rainey, 37 Lower Garden City, Derry

The death has taken place of the late Brendan Rainey, January 18 2025, peacefully at his home, 37 Lower Garden City, (formerly of Beechwood Avenue), beloved husband of Greta, loving father of John and Anna, dear father-in-law to Sebastian, devoted grandfather of Phoebe, cherished son of the late Josephine and Don, dear and loving brother of Eithne, Desmond, Colette, Enda and the late Fr. Sean and Brian and a loving uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Brendan will be reposing at his home. Funeral leaving there on Tuesday, January 21 at 9:20am to St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him.
