The death has taken place of the late Charles (Charlie) Appleby, December 22 2024, Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by his loving family in his 90th year) dearly beloved husband of the late Hannah, much loved father of Vernon, Keith, Paula and Gary, loving father-in-law, adored grandfather and great-grandfather. Service of thanksgiving in his late home, 10 Milltown View, Drumahoe on Saturday at 10.30am followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Alzheimer’s Society c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. The death has taken place of the late Stephen Austin, December 23 2024, Peacefully at his home, 1 Waveney Park, Lisnagelvin, (surrounded by his loving family in his 90th year) dearly beloved husband of Gretta, loving father of Pauline and Nigel, much loved father-in-law of Ian and Lorna, devoted granda of Sam, Matt, Ben, Nicola, Ellen, Stephen and David, dearest great-grand of Zoë, Lucy, Joshua, Sophia, Charlie, Matilda, Lucas and Theo, dear brother of Noel and the late Maureen, Tillie, Kathleen, Lila, Hugh, John, Hazel, Billy, Christine, Joyce, George, Ruby and Margaret. Funeral leaving his late home on Friday, December 27 at 12.30pm followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in Glendermott Presbyterian Church at 1.00pm followed by burial in adjoining burial ground. The death has occurred of the late Gerald Cruickshank, December 22 2024, peacefully at Edenvale Care Home, Limavady beloved husband of the late Florrie, loving father of of John, Hugh, Gerry, Jim, Kathy, Michael, Matthew, and the late Rosena and Charlotte, a devoted grandfather, great- grandfather and great-great- grandfather, dear brother of the late Lexie and Louise and much loved father-in-law and uncle. His remains will be reposing in his home, 19 Little Diamond, BT48 9ED. Funeral from there on Tuesday at 11.00am for 11.30am Requiem Mass in St. Eugene’s Cathedral. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

 

Kathleen Hutton (formerly Fillis, née Kennedy), Hazelbank Road, Coleraine

The death has occurred of the late Kathleen Hutton (formerly Fillis, née Kennedy), December 23 2024 (peacefully) at Cornfield Care Centre. Kathleen (formerly Hazelbank Road, Coleraine), much loved mother of Jim and Kenneth, dear mother-in-law of Hazel and Linda, loving grandmother of Lesley-Ann (Frank), Gregory (Melissa) and Laura (Gareth), dearest wee granny of Ben, Kate, Max, Freya, Maisie and Leyla. Service in Coleraine Gospel Hall on Friday, December 27 at 12.00noon followed by interment in Coleraine Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to Cancer Research or NI Chest, Heart and Stroke Association, c/o Ivan Murdock and Sons, 31 Bushmills Road, Coleraine. Deborah (Debbie) Kelly, 12 Durrow Park, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah (Debbie) Kelly, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, surrounded by her loving son Emmett and family on December 23 2024. Late of 12 Durrow Park. May she rest in peace. Devoted mother of Emmett. Beloved daughter of the late Mary (May). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her loving family. Debbie’s remains will be reposing at her late residence, 12 Durrow Park. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, December 26 at 9:20am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Longtower. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. The wake house will be private from 10.00pm until 11.00am. The wake house will also be private on Christmas Day. The death has taken place of the late John McFeely, December 23 2024, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital after a short illness, beloved husband of Rita, 19 Ashburn Avenue, Kilfennan, loving father of Paula, Kathy and Denise, father-in-law of Sean, Sean and Paul, devoted granda of Jane, Gavin, Brendan, Lauren, Ellen, Sarah, Mark and their partners Stephen and Molly, great-granda of Dáithí and dear brother of Margaret, Pat, Eileen, Gabriel and the late Kathleen. His remains will be reposing in his home on Tuesday from 1.00pm – 9.00pm and Christmas Day from 3.00pm – 9.00pm. Funeral from there on Thursday at 11.30am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in St Columb’s Church, Chapel Road. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. The death has occurred of the late Darren McLoone, December 22 2024, much loved father of Chloe, Caoinahin, Shea, Kai, Jake, Mason, Darren and Ben, beloved son of Isobel and the late Gerard, dear stepson of Willie McCloskey and loving brother of Christina, Gerard and Victoria. His remains will be reposing in his mother’s home, 90 The Old Fort, Strathfoyle, from 11.00am on Tuesday. Funeral from there on Thursday at 10.20am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in St Brigid’s Church, Carnhill. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
