Maeve Carey, Oxfordshire (formerly Rochester Drive, Derry)

The death has occurred of the late Maeve Carey, 10th March 2024, peacefully in Oxfordshire and formerly of Rochester Drive, Kilfennan, beloved daughter of the late Edith Annette and James, loving sister of Annette, sister-in-law of David and a much loved aunt. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Columb’s Church, Waterside on Thursday, 21st March 2024 at 10o’clock. Interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. The Mass can be viewed live via the link https://watersideparish.net/. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

 

John Thomas (Jackie) Colhoun, Derry

The death has taken place of John Thomas (Jackie) Colhoun, 18th March 2024, peacefully at Altnagelvin hospital. Beloved husband of Violet (64 years on 19th March) loving father of Trevor, Robin, Jeffrey, Sharon, Ally and Jaclynn. Dear Father in law of Jacqueline, Naomi, Gillian, Martin and Dawn. Devoted grandfather of Warren, Nicola, Ian, Steven, Mark, Darren, Alexandra, Jack, Abbie, Thomas, Christopher and Maisie and great grandfather of Jay, Mya, Grace, Zac, Riley and Joel. Funeral service in the family home, 12 Shearwater Way at 12noon on Friday, 22nd March followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. House private,

Margaret Doherty (née Elliott), 8 Milldale Crescent, Currynierin

The death has taken place of Margaret Doherty (née Elliott), 18th March 2024, beloved wife of Barney, loving mother of Annemarie, Paul and Sarah, mother-in-law of Andrew and dear sister of Marina, Joanne and the late Joseph. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 8 Milldale Crescent, Currynierin. Funeral from there on Thursday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Ardmore. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 12noon. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

 

Margaret Violet McBeth (née McGarrigle), 212 Kildoag Road, Killaloo

The death has occurred of the late Margaret Violet McBeth (née McGarrigle), 18th March 2024, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by her loving family in her 75th year), dearly beloved wif of Samuel (Sam) much loved mother of Samuel, devoted granny of Logan, Blake and Cameron, loving sister of Marlene, John and the late Ann. Service of Thanksgiving in her late home, 212 Kildoag Road, Killaloo on Thursday, 21st March at 1.00pm followed by burial in St Michael’s Burial Ground, Donemana. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to W.H&S.C.T Altnagelvin Hospital (Ward 31)

Josephine McGuigan (née Ward), San Francisco (formerly of 10 Waterloo Street and 1 Oakfield Road, Derry)

The death has occurred of the late Josephine McGuigan (née Ward), 23rd February 2024, passed away peacefully in San Francisco, USA (formerly of 10 Waterloo Street and 1 Oakfield Road). Beloved wife of the late Charlie (Chuck), loving mother of Cathal, mother in law of Jennifer, devoted grandmother and great grandmother and dear sister of Bernie, Marie, John, Brian, Gerald, Martin, Veronica, Angela and the late Patricia and Margaret. Sadly missed by her entire family circle. Mass will be offered in her memory on Thursday, 21st March 2024 at 7.30pm in St. Eugene's Cathedral. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her. St Padre Pio intercede for her.

 

Kevin McHenry, 19 Mullaghmesh Road, Feeny

The death has taken place of the late Kevin McHenry (Upper Feeny), 18th March 2024 at Altnagelvin Hospital. Beloved son of the late James and Margaret , Loving brother of the late Brendan, Jim, Mick, John, Dennis, Anthony, Frank, Peter and Mary R.I.P. Kevin’s remains will be reposing at his late residence, 19 Mullaghmesh Road, Feeny from 5.00pm on Wednesday, 20th March. Funeral leaving from there at 6.00pm on Thursday, 21st March for 11.00am. Baby Fionn James Mullan, 43 Ballygudden Road, Eglinton

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of the late Baby Fionn James Mullan, 18th March 2024, darling infant son of Niall Mullan and Leona McLaughlin. Funeral service in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale on Wednesday at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Forever loved x

 

Kenneth (Kenny) Rosborough, Duncastle Park, Newbuildings

The death has occurred of the late Kenneth (Kenny) Rosborough, 18th March 2024, peacefully at the Ulster Hospital, late of Duncastle Park, Newbuildings, loving father of Amy and Andrew, father-in-law of Jonny, devoted grandfather of Annie and Ajay Campbell, son of the late Ethna and Leslie and dear brother of William, Sonia and the late Andrew. Deeply regretted by all the family circle. His remains will be reposing in his daughter’s home, 113 Gortin Meadows, Newbuildings on Wednesday and Thursday from 5.00pm - 9.00pm. Funeral service will take place there on Friday at 12.30pm. Interment afterwards in Glendermott Presbyterian Church burying ground. Peace perfect peace.

 

George Winston Street, 24 Faughan Crescent, Drumahoe

The death has taken place of George Winston Street, 18th March 2024, peacefully at Edenvale Care Home, Limavady, (surrounded by his loving family in his 85th year formerly of 24 Faughan Crescent, Drumahoe) dearly beloved husband of Dorothy, much loved father of Paula, Stephen and Adele, loving father-in-law of Wilson and Mark, adored grandfather, of Adam, Lewis, Andrew, Hannah, Rachel and the later Leah dearest brother of Freda. Service of Thanksgiving for his life in D & R Hay & Sons, Funeral Home, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ on Wednesday, 20th March, at 12.00noon followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to Glendermott Parish Church or Edenvale Care Home (Comfort Fund) c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director. (address as above). Family home private by request. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. One of life’s true gentlemen.

 

Dorothy “Dot” Thompson (née Parsons), Birmingham

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Dorothy “Dot” Thompson (née Parsons) peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 18th March 2024. Formerly 153 Kingsbury Road, Erdington, Birmingham. Beloved wife of Robert. Loving mother of Mary McConnell and dear mother in law of Paul. Will be sadly missed by her grandson Owen and his wife Kseniia. Dot will be reposing at her daughter’s home, 38 Brunswick Road, Derry from Friday, 22nd March from 12noon. Funeral Service will take at her daughter’s home on Saturday at 11.00am followed by cremation at Lakeland’s crematorium. No flowers please donations if wished in lieu to R.S.P.C.A c/o McLaughlin Funeral Directors Dungiven. Enquires to McLaughlin Funeral Directors Dungiven 07747046084 or 07840052022.
