Woman fined for assault after family financial dispute in Derry pub

64-year-old woman to pay £500 fine following a confrontation inside Tracey's bar
A 64-year-old woman who admitted assaulting two people in a local bar has been fined at Derry Magistrate's Court today.
Sharon Casey of Ballynagard Crescent in Derry admitted two assaults that occurred on December 20 2025.
The court heard that all three, the defendant and the male and female victims, were in Tracey's bar at around 11.30pm.
Casey grabbed one of the victim's by the arm and then followed them round the bar before striking one of them across the face.
She was then removed from the bar.
The court heard that on February 2 2026 Casey attended for a voluntary interview with the PSNI where she made some admissions but denied the assaults.
Defence counsel Michael Donaghy said this was a family dispute over a financial matter.
He said that there had been no injuries caused.
Casey was fined a total of £500.
