Christopher Holden (35) of Drumleck Drive was sentenced to two months in custody, suspended for eighteen months

A man has been given a suspended sentence at Derry Magistrates’ Court charged with resisting police and possession of Class B drugs.

Christopher Holden (35) of Drumleck Drive in Derry was arrested after police received a report of a man shouting and screaming while trying to enter a property.

Police arrived found Holden in a shed, suspecting that he was under the influence, and upon searching found a small amount of Class B drugs.

He was subsequently taken to hospital and arrested for resisting police.

Defence Barrister Stephen Chapman said that there had been a 'significant gap' since Holden's last offence and said that any sentence apart from community service would be suitable.

He was sentenced to two months in custody, suspended for eighteen months.
