The cases of Fergal Melaugh and Thomas Joseph Moore, charged over a April 2025 meeting, are pushed back to September 24

The proposed Preliminary Enquiry involving two men charged with organising a meeting in support of the New IRA has been adjourned again at Derry Magistrate's Court.

The cases of Fergal Melaugh (68) of Mcgowan Park and Thomas Joseph Moore (57) of Farren Park both in Derry were mentioned at today's sitting.

They are both charged with managing or assisting a meeting in support of a proscribed organisation namely the IRA on April 21 2025.

Defence counsel for Melaugh, Stephen Mooney, told the court that the Preliminary Enquiry could not go ahead today.

He said he had read the papers in the case but there was 'a considerable amount of digital evidence that we have not received.'

He said they had contacted the investigating officer in the case to resolve the issue.

Defence solicitor for Moore, Derwin Harvey, told the court that he had received some footage but there were ongoing discussions with the prosecution.

A two week adjournment was requested for the case to be mentioned on September 24.
