Magilligan Prison where it is understood a serious sexual assault happened
A man has been granted bail following reports that a serious sexual assault took place in a County Derry prison.
It is understood the incident happened in Magilligan Prison on Sunday, October 19.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A man has been granted bail to allow for further police enquiries, following a report of serious sexual assault in HM Prison Magilligan on Sunday, 19th October.”
A spokesperson for The NI Prison Service said they cannot comment on an ongoing police investigation.
