The Derry republican socialist was a leading figure in the INLA and IRSP

Masked men flanked the coffin of INLA/IRSP founding member Terry Robson in Derry today.

Mr Robson passed away at Altnagelvin Hospital earlier this week.

A volley of shots were fired over the coffin of the veteran Derry republican socialist by three masked men on Thursday.

The IRSP was founded in December 1974 by former members of the Official IRA (OIRA) and Official Sinn Féin (OSF), Independent Republicans and Socialists, including: Mr Robson, Séamus O'Kane, Tommy McCourt, Johnny White, Seamus Costello and Bernadette McAliskey.

At his funeral today, IRSP ard chomhairle member Sean Carlin told mourners that Terry never wavered from his "core belief in Republican Socialism".

Lifelong friend and IRSP member, Tommy McCourt said Terry "embodied the spirit of 1968".
