Mayor McHugh hosted a reception in Derry's Guildhall for Carers NI as they celebrate their 60th anniversary

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Ruairí McHugh, hosted a civic reception for Carers NI to mark the group’s 60th anniversary. Mayor McHugh congratulated the group, mentioning the incredible work they do.

“I’d like to say a huge congratulations on reaching this remarkable 60-year milestone. For six decades, the organisation has been a steadfast source of support, advocacy, and compassion for carers across our communities.

"The work you do often goes unseen, but its impact is felt in countless homes and families every day. Your commitment truly embodies the spirit of care, community, and kindness that defines the very best of our district.”
